Here at Howards Foam and Fabric, we have the ability to cut your foam into any shape you might need for your unique furniture such as chaise lounges, benches, banquettes or built-ins at home. We pride ourselves on the quality of the cushions we make to order.
Our custom cushions are generally filled with foam with dacron wrap. It is important to choose the quality of foam based on use. How often will your custom cushions be used? Seating that does not get a lot of use can be made of our Economy foam. However, cushions that get multiple daily uses-as in restaurants need our highest density and grade foam. In addition to usage, it is important to consider the size of the person that will be using the piece most. Persons 200 pounds or heavier will need to choose firmer foams to prevent bottoming out.

Replacement
After many years of service, virtually all furniture cushions will need replacing. With several densities and firmness choices, Howard’s is your #1 source for reliable, long-lasting replacement cushions. We make cushions to fit your exact dimensions, using your comfort level of foam. We can add dacron wraps or batting to cushions for the finished look.
Bring your cushions into our store for an exact measurement and price. In most cases, replacement cushions can be turned around in a matter of a few hours. Some special cases may take up to a week at most.
Outdoor
Although outdoor furniture cushions have been around for a long time, most are manufactured using a less expensive polyester fiber fill. Unfortunately, this type of fill looks good in the store upon purchase, but will flatten quickly with use.
Outdoor foam is made of polyurethane and is so visibly porous that water flows through it in moments. This means that you can use your furniture much more quickly after rain than with traditional inserts. Howard’s outdoor foam will sit through a rainstorm, and be ready for use a short time later.

Boat
In many cases, by the time boats are brought in for repair, the foam in the exterior seats has disintegrated to the point of needing repair or replacement. Our boat foam is the perfect foam to replace your entire seating or just areas that are in need. We can create a smooth seam from old to new foam when making our repairs.
From years of use and the dampness of being on a boat, the interior foam cushions may need replacing as well. We can help you select the correct density and firmness for your comfort and budget needs. We can either re-stuff your current covers, or create new for a whole fresh look.
Commercial
Commercial foam is receives the most use and abuse. High traffic areas cause the foam to break down. We can replace your foam with foam that stands up to the wear and tear of everyday use.
Howards Foam and Fabric supplies the foam for many of the restaurants in Rochester and the surrounding areas. We also work with many doctors offices, hospitals and clinics in replacing their foam. Several area gyms also utilize Howards for their foam replacements
Howards Foam and Fabric is committed to ensuring that all of our foam products meet the highest industry specifications, and meet all expectations legal standards such as California Technical Bulletin 117 (Cal 117 flammability standard for residential upholstered furniture), Washington State Law RCW 70.76 (enforced by the Washington Department of Ecology restricting the use of PBDE flame retardants in common household products), California Technical Bulletin 133 (Cal 133 flammability standard for upholstered furniture), FTC Guidelines for Environmental Marketing Claims, as well as other State and Federal laws.
Pillows
Howard’s can create pillows for you in any size or shape. We have several
different fillers available including dacron, down, latex foam, shredded foam and combinations of the above. Come in and touch and feel our samples to decide what your pillows will be stuffed with!
